Minister Badawi stated that the committee will include current officials responsible for exploration and production alongside others with accumulated experience who had previously held distinguished positions in the petroleum sector.
The committee will also be able to seek the assistance of expert Egyptians in Egypt and abroad.
Additionally, it will periodically hold meetings to follow up on its recommendations and develop implementation mechanisms, while following up with and supporting petroleum-sector workers.
Furthermore, the committee will continuously ensure the accuracy of implementation mechanisms while applying necessary technologies, ideas, and innovations.
This includes ensuring safe operations and facilitating the exchange and transfer of experiences to enhance and add value to ongoing efforts.
Badawi’s announcement came after he met with the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation's (EGPC) chief executive, the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company's (EGAS) chairman, and the Ganope Petroleum Company's chairman, among others.
Moreover, Badawi highlighted that the main priority now is increasing production rates and stressing the importance of human expertise, creative ideas, innovation, modern techniques, and advanced technology in implementing this goal.
He also clarified that his ministry is working to achieve its part within the new cabinet’s plan, which includes improving policies to attract investors and providing attractive investment opportunities.
This will contribute to fully utilizing the sector’s potential and implementing solutions to address the gap between production and consumption.
In addition, Badawi explained that work is underway mainly on mechanisms to intensify and encourage oil and gas explorations.
The ministry also encourages partners to invest more in developing discovery efforts and enhancing activities to create a sustainable supply.
He pointed out that his plan aims to improve the efficiency and the economics of the operation and production process while applying occupational health, safety, and environmental protection rules and requirements.
