Pakistan eager to deepen bilateral relations with Egypt in all fields: Pakistani ambassador to Egypt

Sajid Bilal Ambassador of Pakistan in Egypt expressed his country's desire to deepen political, trade, investment, defence and people-to-people linkages with Egypt.

Ambassador Bilal noted that the two countries are celebrating the 76th Anniversary of establishing Pakistan-Egypt diplomatic relations this year.

He made his remarks at the embassy of Pakistan in Cairo during the Celebration of the 78th anniversary of Independence Day. The event was attended by members of the Pakistani community, academia, Egyptian media personnel, and embassy officials. During the occasion, students from Pakistan International School in Cairo performed national songs in front of the audience.

"The multifaceted relationship is deeply rooted in our shared faith, values, culture, and traditions. Egypt enjoys a special place in the hearts and minds of the Pakistani people and their leaders. Egypt was one of the first countries to recognize Pakistan shortly after its independence. Pakistan and Egypt are celebrating the 76th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations this year," noted Bilal.

The event started with hoisting the Pakistani flag at the Chancery to the tune of the national anthem. A special ceremony followed, beginning with reciting excerpts from the Holy Quran and reading messages from the President, the Prime Minister, and the Foreign Minister.

In his address on the occasion, Bilal paid glowing tributes to the founders of Pakistan for their countless sacrifices during the freedom movement. He applauded their struggle for a separate homeland for the Muslims of the sub-continent under the exemplary leadership of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. In addition, Bilal lauded the enormous potential the citizens of Pakistan have shown during more than seven decades of the country's history, stressing that efforts must continue to realize the truly progressive and prosperous Pakistan dreamt of by the founding fathers.

Similarly, Bilal lauded the contributions and sacrifices of Pakistan’s security forces to eradicate terrorism and stand firmly against all odds and challenges.

He also thanked the Pakistani community in Egypt for their valuable contributions to the progress and development of Pakistan, expressing appreciation for their active role in building bridges between Pakistan and Egypt.

Moreover, Bilal inaugurated a specially decorated bus showcasing the art of truck painting in Pakistan. The event ended with a flag hoisting ceremony, with Pakistani community members, media personnel, and the embassy team joining the ambassador in cutting the Independence Day cake.
