In a statement released on Thursday, the prosecution said the medical examiner's report stated that the 26-year-old tested positive for drugs immediately following his arrest.

Investigations also determined that Fatouh was exceeding the speed limit when he struck the victim.

On Tuesday, a judge in Marsa Matrouh ordered extending the footballer's detention for 15 days pending further investigation.
