Don't miss the Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theatre (CIFET), the oldest and most renowned international Arab festival dedicated to promoting experimental theater and discovering the latest theater trends from around the world, bringing performances and networking opportunities to our historic campus in the heart of downtown Cairo. CIFET is one of the oldest and most renowned international Arab festivals dedicated to promoting and presenting experimental theatrical performances from all over the world. The festival aims to foster communication and dialogue among various people and groups. This year's programme features three distinct theater performances, with each performance running for two days.
Free Admission: (First come first served), theatre capacity is 200 seats 
Duration: 60 – 90 minutes for each performance, no intermissions

Al-Ghad (Tomorrow) Theatre

Alnoqta Alamia (The Blind Spot) play, directed by Ahmed Fouad, is based on a text by the famous Swiss writer Friedrich Dürrenmatt, and produced by the Al-Ghad Theatre company, led by the artist Sameh Megahed, and under the supervision of director Khaled Galal. It casts 

The Blind Spot starring Nour Mahmoud, and it is his first theatrical experience, and it casts Ahmed Al-Salakawi, Ahmed Othman, Hossam Fayyad, Heidi Barakat, and Omar Salah El-Din. The events of the play revolve around a malfunction in the car of Adam, played by Nour Mahmoud, during a severe storm, forcing him to take refuge in the nearest house, to find inside it three law professors playing a strange game called the court, and the elements of the game are completed in his presence. He finds himself involved in the grip of the court trying to find a way to get out of this game (Performances run daily, 8.30pm).

Arees El-Bahr (Groom of The Sea), an enjoyable journey through time and space, 

we travel together to experience a dramatic play from the heritage of Upper Egypt. 

Two brothers from a wealthy family in Upper Egypt were torn apart by greed 

over their inheritance. The elder brother went against his younger brother. 

How did greed, love, hatred, and hope affect Masoud and Wajida, who were 

victims of the greed of their uncle; El-Hareedy? The play is based on the 

traditional ballad Masoud and Wajida by the folk singer and artist Mohamed Taha

Enjoy a unique theatrical evening filled with laughter, tears, dancing, 

and singing. Dramaturge by Mohamed Adel, directed by Walid Talaat, and performed by the BUE Theatre team (30 and 31 August, 8pm).

Wisdom Hall

Investigation 9 play is an interactive comedy show between the audience and the actors, performed by Written on Us Theatre Company, an independent theatrical troupe made up of a group of actors with many experiences in theatre, television, and social media content. It is about a murder in which we try to find out the killer in a comic framework with a story the audience built themselves (26 August, 8pm).
