Ahly have completed the signing of Moroccan defender Achraf Dari from French side Brest for the next four years, the Cairo giants announced on Wednesday.

Ahly

Dari is Ahly’s third summer-signing following compatriot Yahia Attiyat Allah who joined Ahly on loan from Russian side Sochi and Yousef Aymen who also joined the Red Devils on a one-season loan deal from Qatari side Al-Duhail,

The 25-year-old joined Brest from Moroccan giants Wydad de Casablanca in the summer of 2022 where he played 24 games.

He was loaned to Belgian side Charleroi in January 2024, scoring three goals in nine appearances.

Dari who made his international debut in December 2021 has seven caps so far including a historical participation in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar where the Atlas Lions made history with their unprecedented fourth place.

He started the World competition in the bench before participating in the quarter-finals against Portugal.

The towering defender scored the Atlas Lions’ only goal in their 2-1 defeat to Croatia in the match for the third place.

Ahly are looking to strengthen their backline especially with the anticipated departure of international defender Mohamed Abdelmonem who is strongly linked with a move to French side Nice.
