Amr Diab to open Saudi Arabia’s AlUla Skies Festival

Egyptian megastar Amr Diab will open AlUla skies festival on Friday 27 September with a live performance in an outdoor venue.

AlUla Skies Festival, held from 25 September to 5 October, is one of four segments of Saudi's larger event known as AlUla Moments.

The three-month event showcases music, heritage and culinary events, among other attractions. 

Famous for hot air balloon tours, AlUla Skies Festival also includes picnics under the stars, stargazing, and astrophotography, alongside music concerts and film screenings.

Amr Diab's concert is the first event in the AlUla Moments concert series this year.

Diab, 62, is among the most prominent and regionally recognised pop singers, drawing crowds of thousands to his live concerts and ranking as one of the most listened-to artists on streaming platforms.

With over 30 albums and a huge collection of regional and international trophies and awards throughout his four-decade career, the megastar, dubbed as El-Haddaba (The Hill) by fans, maintains an ever-growing fan base.

Diab’s last album Makanak (Your Place) was released in December 2023. 

He has recently released a few singles, including Tetehabi and El Ta'ama.

Over the past years, AlUla Moments has hosted numerous Arab and international stars.

These included Alicia Keys, Enrique Iglesias, Lionel Richie, Yanni, Caracalla Dance Theatre, Jose Carreras, and Jamiroquai.

Arab musicians included Egyptian pianist and composer Omar Khairat, Saudi singer Mohamed Abdo, Syrian singer Assala, and Iraqi singer Majid Al-Mohandis, among others.

Located 1,100 km from Riyadh in northwest Saudi Arabia, AlUla is a historic oasis city marked by extraordinary natural and human heritage. It is the Kingdom’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site.
