According to a statement by the Ministry of Planning, Al-Mashat met Rousseff on the sidelines of the ninth annual meeting for the NDB's governors, held under the title “Investing in a Sustainable Future” from 28 to 31 August in Cape Town in South Africa.

Furthermore, the two sides discussed the NDB's contribution to financing the private sector to build a 1.1 GW Wind Power Plant Project in Suez. The project is part of Egypt's plan to produce 42 percent of its energy from renewable sources by 2030.

Al-Mashat and Rousseff also discussed the Egyptian government's efforts to attract green transformation investments in water, food, and energy.
