Just three days after signing with Ligue 1 side Nice, Egypt international defender Mohamed Abdelmonem made his debut in a 4-1 win against Angers on Sunday.

The 25-year-old defender started on the bench but was called into action in the 68th minute, replacing central defender Moise Bombito following a red card. At the time, Nice were leading 2-1.

Abdelmonem's presence helped solidify Nice's defense, allowing them to withstand Angers' pressure and mount a counter-attack. Evann Guessand scored twice in quick succession, in the 72nd and 85th minute, to secure the win for Nice.

This victory marks Nice's first of the season after three games, moving them up to 8th place in the Ligue 1 table with four points.

The former Ahly defender joined Nice on a four-year loan deal until 2028. The club hopes he will strengthen their backline for both Ligue 1 and the upcoming Europa League campaign.
