The 22-year-old, currently representing the Palestinian national team in the World Cup Asian qualifiers, will join the White Knights after finishing his international commitments on Tuesday 10 September.
The former Levante striker, Faraj has appeared twice for the Swedish national team before deciding to play for Palestine, where he participated in two international matches without finding the net.
He tallied three goals in 19 outings across all competitions for AIK last season.
Faraj becomes Zamalek’s second new signing following Moroccan fullback Mahmoud Bentayg, who joined the club on a one-season loan from French side Saint-Etienne.
Meanwhile, Zamalek have confirmed the departure of long-serving forward Youssef 'Obama' Ibrahim, whose contract expired with the conclusion of the summer.
The 29-year-old is reportedly in discussions for a move to Egyptian Premier League side Pyramids FC.
