Obama, whose contract with Zamalek ended at the close of the 2023-2024 season, joins Pyramids FC as a free agent.
The Egypt Cup winners shared a video on their official social media, captioned, “From the White House to the Pyramids.”
While the exact length of Obama’s contract with Pyramids FC remains undisclosed, reports suggest he penned a three-year deal.
Last season, Obama played a crucial role in Zamalek’s CAF Confederation Cup victory and helped the White Knights secure a third-place finish in the domestic league, scoring 11 goals in 31 appearances.
The 28-year-old forward made his debut for Zamalek in the 2013-2014 season under coach Ahmed Hossam Mido, having progressed through the club’s youth system.
Obama featured in 297 games across all competitions for Zamalek, scoring 62 goals and providing 31 assists.
His career also included loan spells with Wadi Degla, Ittihad of Alexandria and Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hazem.
He won a host of titles with Zamalek including two Confederation Cups, three Egyptian Premier League trophies and five Egypt Cups title, one Egyptian Super Cup and one CAF Super Cup.
Zamalek announced Obama’s departure on Thursday, making him the second player to leave the club this summer after midfielder Mohamed “Rouka” Ashraf.
