Mostafa Mohamed, Marmoush ruled out of Egypt AFCON qualifier against Botswana due to Injuries

Egypt national team will face the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Botswana in the second round of Group C games on Tuesday without key players Mostafa Mohamed and Omar Marmoush who will be sidelined due to injuries.

The duo picked up their injuries during Friday’s 3-0 victory over Cape Verde in the first round of the qualifiers group stage.

Medical examinations revealed that Mostafa Mohamed sustained a hamstring injury, while Omar Marmoush sustained a knee sprain.

Meanwhile, in better news, defenders Rami Rabia and Mohamed Hamdi who left the Cape Verde game due to muscle fatigue were deemed fit for the upcoming match.

Hossam Hassan calls up Eid
 

In response to the injuries, Egyptian national team coach Hossam Hassan has called up right back Ahmed Eid to bolster the squad.

The 23-year-old, who competes for Masry SC, previously represented Egypt’s U23 team in the Paris Olympics, showcasing impressive performances during the tournament.
