This came during a press conference with his Danish counterpart, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, in Cairo.
In response to a question from a Danish TV reporter about Israeli PM Neanyahu claims on refusing to withdraw from the Philadelphi corridor on the Egypt-Gaza border because of "arms smuggling from Sinai into the strip," FM Abdelatty said: "I am surprised by the persistence in the repetition of these lies and claims.”
"These Israeli claims are intended to evade the conclusion of a deal that would ensure an immediate ceasefire in Gaza war," Egypt’s top diplomat argued.
Netanyahu has been stalling on agreeing to sign any ceasefire deal with Hamas through mediation by Egypt, Qatar, and the US by adding new demands and conditions in every turn for months now.
"Every time we get closer to reaching an agreement, new claims… and lies that have no relation to reality emerge, and they are aware of this," FM Abdelatty said.
On Wednesday, Netanyahu repeated his wild claims that Israel cannot withdraw its troops from the 14-km-long Philadelphi corridor because "Hamas is receiving arms smuggled to Gaza through tunnels with Sinai.|
Egypt has repeatedly said that Netanyahu was desperately looking to distract from his political and military failures in Gaza by pointing figures elsewhere.
In Monday’s press conference, FM Abdelatty asked rhetorically if weapons in the West Bank were also coming from Egypt.
"Are these weapons arriving via tunnels from Egypt? This is illogical... we know and they know the sources of this arms smuggling… and we have full information about the sources of smuggling, but we do not want to talk about it,” he continued.
The Egyptian foreign minister noted that Egypt has invested heavily over the past decade to build a security fence and to ensure the destruction of any tunnels along its border, stressing that those tunnels dated back to the period of the Israeli occupation period of Gaza.
Egypt has destroyed thousands of these tunnels and built strong security networks along the border to secure it, he added.
No one can deny Egypt's stance in its fight against terrorism and smuggling, he stressed.
"Anything else propagated by any party are lies," he asserted.
