Egypt announces Medal bonuses for Paralympic athletes

Egypt's government has announced financial rewards for its Paralympic athletes, with gold medalists set to receive 4 million Egyptian pounds, following the country's success at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris, where Egyptian athletes secured seven medals.

Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi revealed the bonuses during a cabinet meeting on Wednesday.

He stated that Egypt remains committed to supporting its Paralympic champions, adding that silver medalists will be awarded 3 million pounds, while bronze medalists will receive 2 million pounds.

This move comes after Egypt’s athletes clinched two gold, two silver, and three bronze medals in Paris.

Sobhi praised the team’s achievements, highlighting the government's commitment to supporting its Paralympic champions and promoting inclusivity in sports.
