FM Abdelatty also outlined Egypt's efforts to prevent further regional escalation to his Dutch counterpart, according to statement by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Tamim Khallaf.

Earlier on Wednesday, President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi called on Europe to pressure the parties involved to reach an agreement that promotes stability and alleviates the suffering of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

During a press conference with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Cairo, President El-Sisi emphasized Egypt's crucial and proactive role in mediating, alongside Qatar and the United States, to facilitate a ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel to end the Gaza war.

Egypt- Netherlands ties

In Wednesday's call, FM Abdelatty commended the progress in bilateral relations, particularly the economic ties between Egypt and the Netherlands.

He also welcomed visits from officials at major Dutch companies to explore Egypt's investment climate and the incentives it provides to investors, especially in agriculture, water management, industry, digitization, financial services, and energy.

Furthermore, Abdelatty expressed to FM Veldkamp Egypt's desire to strengthen collaboration between businesses in the two countries by exploring the creation of a business council, which would include entrepreneurs from both nations.

He also expressed enthusiasm for the Dutch trade missions scheduled to visit Egypt this year, focusing on the agricultural sector and green hydrogen industry.

The government’s economic strategy, released in February and outlining plans for the next six years, aims to establish Egypt as a global hub for green hydrogen by 2030.

The two sides also discussed Egypt's relations with the European Union after the EU upgraded relations with Egypt to a comprehensive strategic partnership earlier this year, according to the statement.
