In Photos: Egypt-US naval forces multi-day drill Eagle Defender kicks off in Red Sea

The Egyptian-American naval first-of-its-kind multi-day drills Eagle Defender has kicked off in the Southern Fleet in Egypt's Red Sea, according to a statement by the Egyptian military spokesman on Thursday.

The training began with theoretical and practical lectures, which aimed to unify the operational concepts between the two forces.

The statement added that a weapons and equipment exhibition was held during the training.

Moreover, the drill will include various training activities, such as planning and managing joint naval operations, to help participating forces exchange experiences and enhance their skills and capabilities.

It will also provide an opportunity to familiarize participants with the latest advanced armament systems.

This joint exercise aligns with Egypt's efforts to strengthen military cooperation and exchange experiences with sisterly and friendly countries, added the statement.
