In an interview on Nice’s YouTube channel, Abdelmonem responded to a message from an Ahly fan urging his new team to "take care of him" and calling him "one of our own."
"I thank everyone who supported me. Ahly fans and Nice fans are backing me a lot," Abdelmonem said.
The 25-year-old reflected on his debut in Nice’s 4-1 win over Angers, where he came on as a substitute in the 68th minute.
"God willing, I will help the team and make the fans happy," he added.
Asked about adapting to Ligue 1, Abdelmonem said he's excited to prove himself. He also joked about learning French, saying: "I’ll start today."
A former striker, Abdelmonem recalled his goal in the 2023 CAF Champions League final against Morocco's Wydad, crediting his early training for his sharp positioning.
Looking ahead to Nice’s upcoming match against Marseille, he expressed confidence: "The whole team is ready. We’ve studied Marseille well, and God willing, we’ll make the fans happy."
