Egypt participates in five-nation group meeting on ending Lebanese presidential vacuum crisis
Egypt's Ambassador to Beirut Alaa Moussa participated in the meeting of the five-nation group on Lebanon, which includes Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, France, and the United States, concerned with ending the Lebanese presidential vacuum crisis.

According to the Egyptian foreign ministry, the participants emphasized in the meeting, held in Beirut on Saturday, the importance of holding the Lebanese presidential elections as soon as possible and agreed to intensify communications with various Lebanese political factions to bridge differences and build mutual trust.
During the meeting, Ambassador Moussa reiterated Egypt's commitment on working in coordination with other five-nations Committee members to prevent an escalation of military confrontations in southern Lebanon.
He stressed the need to resolve the nearly two-year-long presidential vacancy, noting that electing a new president is the first step towards completing the establishment of Lebanese state institutions and implementing the necessary reforms to address the challenges Lebanon is facing.
