The Green Eagles secured a spot in the secondary continental competition after clinching fourth place in the Egyptian League last season.
Masry's most notable campaign in the Confederation Cup came during the 2017/18 edition when they advanced to the semifinals, only to be defeated 4-0 by AS Vita Club of DR Congo.
On the other hand, Al Hilal earned their place in the second preliminary round following a commanding 5-1 aggregate victory over Uhamiaji FC of Zanzibar in the first round.
Ahead of their upcoming clash with Al Hilal, Masry bolstered their squad with key acquisitions, including goalkeeper Mahmoud Hamdi, forward Karim Bambo, defenders Mohamed Hashim, Khaled Sobhi, and midfielder Mohamed Makhlouf.
The return leg of this exciting encounter is scheduled for next week.
