According to the Egyptian army's statement, launching a relief aid ship is part of implementing the directives of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces to provide all forms of support to the Sudanese people.

The statement added that the aid providers include the Egyptian Armed Forces, the Ministry of Social Solidarity, the Ministry of Health and Population, and the Egyptian Red Crescent.

According to the statement, the aid provided by Egypt aims to assist the most affected areas in Sudan, particularly in the Northern State, which was hard hit by floods earlier this month.
