Egyptian international winger Omar Marmoush expressed his joy after netting twice to secure a 2-1 win on Saturday for Eintracht Frankfurt over his former club Wolfsburg in the third matchday of the German Bundesliga.

The 25-year-old forward continued his impressive start to the season, scoring both goals for Frankfurt and taking his tally to three this campaign.

The Egyptian international struck first in the 30th minute, converting a cross from Hugo Ekitike.

Wolfsburg equalized through Ridle Baku in the 76th minute, but Marmoush had the final say, as he calmly slotted home a penalty eight minutes from the final whistle to seal the victory for the visitors.

After the match, Marmoush shared his satisfaction with the outcome and his own performance. "It's been a super Saturday," he told Frankfurt's official website.

"Getting three points away from home, especially in Wolfsburg, isn't easy. We are so happy. I'm glad I could help the team. We played as a unit and were rewarded for our hard work," he added.

Marmoush joined Frankfurt from Wolfsburg in the summer of 2023 on a free transfer and has quickly established himself as a key player for the Eagles.

In the 2023/2024 season, Marmoush accumulated 17 goals and six assists during 41 appearances across all competitions.

His standout performances included a goal and assist in Frankfurt's 3-1 win over Hoffenheim in the previous matchday.

Frankfurt’s victory over Wolfsburg follows a mixed start to the Bundesliga season, with a win over Hoffenheim and a loss to Borussia Dortmund.

The Eagles now sit seventh in the standings with six points, three behind league leaders Bayern Munich.
