Egypt Defence Minister inspects Mohamed Naguib Military Base

General Abdel-Meguid Saqr, Minister of Defence and Military Production and General Commander of the Egyptian Armed Forces, inspected Mohamed Naguib Military Base on Sunday, according to a statement by the Egyptian military spokesman.

The General Commander was briefed by Major General Ahmed Hisham Hosny, Commander of the Northern Military Zone, on the Mohamed Naguib Military Base.

Hosny highlighted that the base constitutes a major military stronghold with its powerful force, combat and administrative units, shooting ranges, and training facilities, the statement noted.

During the tour, Saqr inspected specialized training areas and spoke with several personnel. He also toured the electronic state-of-the-art shooting ranges that allow the base to host joint exercises and facilitate exchanging experiences with allied and friendly forces.

Additionally, the General Commander inspected the accommodation and living facilities allocated to the delegations from countries participating in the various joint exercises.

He emphasized the strategic importance of the Mohamed Naguib Military Base as a crucial deterrent force in the northern strategic front, capable of repelling any aggression with its advanced weapons and equipment.

Furthermore, Saqr also highlighted the base's role as a joint training centre that integrates all the elements of training and combat capability and its adherence to the principles and components of modern joint weapons battles.

He also highlighted the Egyptian Armed Forces' commitment to enhancing its capabilities by establishing comprehensive military bases across the country's strategic directions.

These bases include land forces, combat units, seaports, and air bases, all equipped with the most up-to-date international armament systems to ensure the military can efficiently and effectively perform any assigned tasks.

Furthermore, Saqr pointed out that the Egyptian Armed Forces are advancing with strength and determination in developing combat training plans and programs based on scientifically studied principles to enhance the preparation and qualification of the individual fighter, who remains the true asset of the armed forces and central to defending the homeland and preserving its integrity.

The General Commander of the Armed Forces also had lunch with the members of the armed forces of the Northern Military Zone and conveyed greetings from President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. He also communicated the president's greetings on Al Mawlid Al Nabawi (the day  Prophet Muhammad was born), which Egypt celebrates on 15 September.
