Egypt to face Mauritania on 11 October in AFCON qualifiers

The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced today that Egypt's upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mauritania will be played on Friday 11 October, in Cairo.

The Pharaohs currently lead Group C with six points after victories over Cape Verde (3-0) and Botswana (4-0) in their opening two matches.

Mauritania are third of the group with three points after beating Botswana (1-0) and losing against Cape Verde (2-0).

The upcoming international break is scheduled for 7 to 15 October.

The EFA stated that the date for the away fixture against Mauritania has not yet been confirmed by their counterparts.
