After greeting the noble people of Egypt and all Arab and Muslim peoples, El-Sisi said that the celebration of Prophet Muhammad's birthday offers an opportunity to reflect on his inspiring journey and delve into Islam’s noble teachings, which have elevated humanity to its greatest levels.

“His remarkable life charted a path of compassion and fraternity for humanity, guided by a moral code that unites rather than divides and builds rather than tears down,” he said.

The president added that the Holy Quran verses have clearly stated that fostering a righteous human being who can fulfil the mission entrusted to him by Allah the Almighty, namely, to contribute to the growth and prosperity of the universe, is one of the loftiest purposes of creation.

El-Sisi quoted Prophet Muhammed “I was sent to perfect noble character,” adding that this is a call for all humanity to embody virtuous morals in all walks of life.

“Let people engage with one another based on exalted principles, principles of goodness, benefit, compassion, mercy, and kindness for all people, so that they can live in peace and security, and when differences arise, their approach will be dialogue and persuasion, devoid of coercion and harm,” he said.

El-Sisi reiterated the dire need for enhanced efforts by all state institutions, particularly religious institutions, to develop individuals, instil values, promote enlightened moderate thought, and confront extremist and destructive ideologies.

He further underscored the state’s full commitment to provide all necessary support and create a conducive environment that ensures the success of these endeavours.

The celebration was held at Al-Manara International Conference Centre, where El-Sisi honoured several Islamic scholars, including the former mufti of Egypt Sheikh Shawky Allam.

The president bestowed the “Medal of Science of First Class” on Sheikh Allam in recognition of his efforts in serving religion and homeland and his pivotal role in renewing religious discourse, spreading true teachings of Islam and tolerance and moderation values.
