President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and King Abdullah II of Jordan have warned of the danger of the ongoing war in Gaza and the expansion of the violations in the West Bank.

In a phone call on Tuesday, both leaders stressed that such a development could escalate the conflict, negatively impacting all peoples of the region as well as international peace and security, according to a statement by the Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy.

They strongly rejected any plans to liquidate the Palestinian cause or force the Palestinians to abandon their lands, calling for an end to the Israeli war exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

The call also tackled de-escalation efforts, with King Abdullah II praising Egypt's efforts to secure a ceasefire and provide humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

President El-Sisi also expressed his appreciation for Jordan's efforts in this context, according to the statement.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is set to visit Egypt on Tuesday for his 10th trip to the Middle East since the Gaza war began nearly a year ago.

The visit will partly focus on refining a proposal for a ceasefire deal, which will be presented to both Israel and Hamas.

According to the US Department of State, Blinken is expected to discuss the ongoing efforts to reach a ceasefire in Gaza that secures the release of all captives, alleviates the suffering of the Palestinian people, and helps establish broader regional security.

However, Blinken will not be visiting Israel on this trip.
