Masry, who had suffered a 3-2 defeat in the first leg in Libya last week, managed to outshine their opponents in the second leg at Alexandria's Borg El-Arab Stadium, achieving an identical 3-2 result.

Salah Mohsen, who had scored twice in the first leg in Libya, repeated his feat by netting a brace in Alexandria (19th and 39th minute), with Tunisian forward Fakhreddine Ben Youssef adding a crucial third goal six minutes from time.

Masry defender Baher El Mohamadi opened the scoring for the visitors in the 15th minute, while Willy Onana dramatically equalized in injury time, forcing the game into a penalty shootout.

During the penalty shootout, Masry's goalkeeper Mahmoud Gad made a crucial save against the Libyan side, propelling his team into the group stage of the competition.

Masry will join fellow country club Zamalek who secured his place in the group stage earlier on Saturday.
