The concert will mark the celebration of World Tourism Day (which falls on 27 September, right after Said's performance), where the soprano will be accompanied by the grand orchestra under the baton of Nader Abbassi.
This is not the first collaboration between Said and Abbassi. In January 2023, Said took the stage of the Grand Egyptian Museum at a concert in which she accompanied the United Philharmonic Orchestra under Abbassi's baton. That concert placed Said as the first woman singer to perform in this prestigious location.
Abbassi, one of Egypt's most accomplished conductors, gained global limelight during the international live broadcast of the Pharaohs Golden Parade (April 2021) and the reopening of the 3000-year-old Avenue of Sphinxes in Luxor (November 2021), followed by his many appearances alongside the regional stars.
Said, one of Egypt’s brightest stars in classical music, gained prominence for her extraordinary vocal qualities, topped with a unique ability to blend Western classical music with her Middle Eastern heritage.
A graduate of Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin, she became the first Egyptian soprano to perform at Milan’s La Scala Opera House (2016), and one of six musicians selected by BBC Radio 3 to take part in its New Generation Artist Scheme from 2016 to 2018.
In early 2020, Said signed a recording contract with a leading classical label, Warner Classics. This cooperation resulted in the release of her debut album El-Nour in October of the same year. This multicultural project blends Western classical music with Arabic and Mediterranean influences through a mixture of Western pieces — French, Spanish, and Arabic songs. In 2021, the album brought Said Opus Klassik Award for Best Young Artist.
In 2023, Said made her debut at the Carnegie; a few months later, she was offered the Rafik Hariri Award for Artistic Excellence during a special ceremony held at the Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts, Washington, D.C.
The same year, she received a European Culture Award, a recognition offered to individuals and institutions that contributed significantly to European culture across various fields.
Said gives occasional concerts in her home country, including her 2023 performance at the Grand Egyptian Museum.
