In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also urged citizens currently residing in Lebanon to exercise the utmost caution, avoid conflict areas, follow Lebanese authorities' instructions, and maintain regular contact with the Egyptian embassy in Beirut.

The foreign ministry's statement comes amid intense Israeli airstrikes in eastern and southern Lebanon that killed more than 600 and wounded hundreds in the past 72 hours.

On Tuesday, EgyptAir, the country's national carriers, suspended its flights from Cairo to Beirut until the situation in Lebanon stabilizes.

In the past 48 hours, several countries have also called on their citizens to leave Lebanon.
