Nasser Mansi canceled out Wessam Abou Ali's penalty giving Zamalek the chance to prevail on penalties (4-3). 

Ahly, the dominant force in Egypt and Africa, have been widely tipped to win the title against the White Knights who are in a rebuild process.

"I’d like to thank all those who told us we wouldn’t win. Your words gave us the motivation we needed," he added.

Gomes also emphasized the importance to the Zamalek fanbase and dedicated the title to them.

This victory marks Zamalek's second continental title this season, following their CAF Confederation Cup triumph—also their second in the club’s history.
