INTRO Investments Holding, established in 1980, is a private Egyptian conglomerate that includes numerous companies in various fields, such as trading and commercial representation, oil and gas engineering, and real estate.
Data Park is the leading data centre and cloud service provider in Oman.
This anticipated mega deal marks the first strategic partnership between the two firms, aimed at delivering cloud solutions, Internet of Things (IoT), and digital transformation services to regional and international markets in Africa and the Middle East.
The Kemet Data Centre will be built over 80,000 square metres in two phases. It is designed to meet the needs of large companies seeking advanced, cost-effective cloud data capabilities, offering features such as dynamic scalability and enhanced data processing speed.
The centre plans to integrate sustainable technologies, including solar energy, to minimize its carbon footprint while delivering high-quality digital services.
Advansys, a subsidiary of INTRO Technology, will manage the data centre’s specialized staff and oversee the project's execution. Utilizing its Centre of Excellence, Advansys will handle all aspects of the project, including legal procedures, hardware importation, and design, facilitating a smooth launch.
Walid Gamal El-Din, chairman of the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), highlighted that data centre projects are essential for attracting services that meet the rising demand for cloud services, IoT, and digital transformation.
He noted that Kemet Data Centre will be the first of its kind in the SCZone, aimed at localizing vital service industries. Its strategic position along the Suez Canal — hosting a significant share of the region's undersea communications cables — is expected to boost foreign investments.
"This partnership represents a pivotal step in our strategic journey to expand technology projects in the Middle East and Africa. Collaborating with Oman Data Park allows us to combine our cloud expertise with their proven success in data centre services. We believe Kemet Data Centre will play a crucial role in Egypt's digital transformation goals, aligning with its 2030 vision", said Mamdouh Abbas, founder and chairman of INTRO Investments Holding.
"We are thrilled to partner with INTRO Technology to establish Kemet Data Centre, strengthening our presence in the region. This joint investment will foster growth and innovation in the Middle East, supporting economic development," Maqbool Al Wahaibi, CEO of Oman Data Park, stated
Oman Data Park will provide comprehensive commercial services, including design oversight, construction consulting, and operational management. With a strong track record, Oman Data Park is committed to developing advanced facilities that enhance strategic partnerships supporting the region's digital transformation.
As global enterprises seek secure, scalable, and cost-effective data storage solutions, Egypt’s strategic location and robust infrastructure provide an efficient platform for companies’ operations in the region and beyond.
