Costa 19 years, who is a product of the Benfica Castelo Branco Academy in Portugal, is Zamalek’s sixth new signing this season as the club attempts to rebuild their squad after a frustrating season last term, which saw them finish third in the league table behind Ahly and Pyramids FC.
The towering defender (190 cm) is set to strengthen Zamalek's backline, which struggled last season, especially due to the long absence of international defender Mahmoud ‘El-Wensh’ Hamdi.
The Cairo giants have already signed Polish winger Konrad Michalak, Moroccan fullback Mahmoud Bentayg, Palestinian striker Omar Farag, left-back Mohamed Hamdy, and Senegalese youth forward Sidi Ndaye.
On Friday, Zamalek won the CAF Super Cup at the expense of their fellow country club Ahli, following a 4-3 victory on penalties.
