The coastal club made a brief announcement on Monday via social media, without revealing the length or financial terms of Gharib's contract.

Gharib, who previously managed Egypt’s national team, returns to Ismaily after a short stint in 2013.

The club has been searching for a new manager following Galal’s death on 11 September.

Ismaily, three-time Egyptian Premier League champions, have struggled in recent seasons, grappling with financial and administrative challenges. They narrowly avoided relegation last season, finishing 14th in the 18-team league under Galal's leadership.

At 65, Gharib brings a wealth of experience, having managed several clubs in the Egyptian Premier League over his 20-year career, including stints with Arab Contractors, Ghazl El Mahalla, and El-Entag El-Harby, all of which have faced their own battles for survival.
