The embassy’s celebration kicked off on Monday with an opening ceremony attended by US Embassy Deputy Chief of Mission Evyenia Sidereas, featuring a screening of the documentary “Jimmy Carter: Rock and Roll President,” which highlights the president's enduring passion for music.

Located at the Falaki Theater Mainstage and Gallery at the American University in Cairo’s Tahrir Campus, the exhibit will be open to the public from 1 October to 10 October.

During the ceremony, DCM Sidereas said Carter’s life has been dedicated to bringing the world’s people closer together, especially the people of Egypt and the United States.

“While a tireless advocate for humanitarian causes, he also addressed significant issues within the U.S., challenging racism and poverty in his native Georgia. We are proud to celebrate his life and legacy today,” Sidereas added.

The exhibit highlights Carter’s significant contributions to the US-Egypt partnership, which has continued to thrive for over four decades since his presidency.

Visitors can explore a collection of photographs showcasing key moments in his life, including his collaboration with Egyptian President Anwar Sadat on the Camp David Accords and his visits to Egypt.

The exhibit will be open daily from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm, Sunday through Thursday, at the Falaki Gallery in Cairo.
