"The region is experiencing significant unrest due to Israeli actions," El-Gebaly said, calling on the international community to intervene and halt the blatant Israeli violations of human rights.

El-Gebaly also commended Egypt’s decision to provide urgent medical aid to the brotherly Lebanese people amid clear international inaction to end the suffering of innocents.

Additionally, he highlighted Egypt's mediation efforts towards de-escalation.

El-Gebaly's remarks came during the opening of the parliament’s fifth regular session of the second legislative term.

During the session, El-Gebaly praised President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi's firm stance against liquidating the Palestinian cause, asserting the parliament's unwavering support for the Egyptian political leadership's initiatives regarding that cause.

He also affirmed its steadfast support for President El-Sisi's endeavours to reduce regional tensions.

Egypt has spared no effort in providing various forms of support to Palestinian brothers, as the Israeli occupation forces have used starvation, siege, and forced displacement as weapons against the Palestinian people, he added.

Furthermore, the parliament speaker highlighted the unprecedented challenges in Sudan due to the ongoing conflict, underscoring Egypt’s efforts to reach a ceasefire and support Sudanese state institutions.

Moreover, El-Gebaly reaffirmed Egypt's continuous pursuit of a fair agreement with Ethiopia regarding the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), despite Ethiopia thwarting all previous negotiations.

"We reject any threats to the capabilities of the Egyptian people," he said, reiterating the house's rejection of Ethiopia's unilateral actions.

In addition, he emphasized the house's commitment to collaborate with the state institutions to safeguard citizens' interests and uphold national integrity.
