Muhammad Al-Tanani, a cameraman for Al-Aqsa TV, was buried Wednesday afternoon by colleagues at the Al-Ahli Arab hospital in northern Gaza City, according to AFP journalists.

Hamas condemned his killing in a statement, holding the Israeli army "fully responsible" for the "despicable crime," AFP reported.

In the same bombardment, reporter Tamer Lubbad, also working for Al Aqsa TV, was injured, Anadolu Agency reported.

Al Jazeera, meanwhile, said Wednesday that one of its cameramen, Fadi Al-Wahidi, was "injured by Israeli gunfire in northern Gaza, becoming the second Al Jazeera cameraman to be injured in an Israeli attack this week".

According to an AFP journalist who was present, Wahidi was wounded in the neck while covering the Israeli assault on Jabalia, north of Gaza City.

Al Jazeera said on X that his condition was critical.

Four Al Jazeera journalists have been killed since Israel's war on Gaza began last October, according to an AFP tally, and the network's office in the territory has been bombed.

The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) reports that at least 130 Palestinian journalists and media workers have been killed in the past year, with hundreds more injured and others still missing.

In a statement released on Thursday, Gaza's media office provided a different figure, saying that 176 journalists have been killed during the same period.

On Sunday, freelance journalist Hassan Hamad was killed in an Israeli airstrike on his home in the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza.

Al Jazeera, which reported on the situation, said he was warned by an Israeli officer to stop filming the war on Gaza before he was killed.
