Egypt are preparing to face Mauritania in a Nations Cup qualifier on Friday, followed by a visit to the North African country on Tuesday with all reports indicate that the seven-time African champions are widely favored to win both matches.
"We have a crucial match against Mauritania. They are a strong team, and we hold respect for all our opponents. I believe this respect is fundamental to our success," Trezeguet told the pre-match press conference.
The 30-year-old underscored his commitment to giving his best alongside his teammates to secure victories and bring happiness to the Egyptian fans.
Trezeguet, who joined Qatari club Al-Rayyan from Turkish side Trabzonspor last summer, stands out as one of the Pharaohs' top performers.
He notably scored twice in Egypt's 4-0 victory over Botswana in a Nations Cup qualifier last September, taking his goal tally with the Pharaohs to 20 in 76 appearances.
