The museum is open daily from 8:30am to 6pm, with ticket sales closing at 4pm.
Ticket prices vary based on category, with admission starting at EGP 200 for Egyptians, EGP 1,200 for Arabs or other nationalities, and EGP 600 for expatriates. Discounts are available for children, students, and seniors.
Visitors will have the opportunity to span 12 meticulously curated exhibition halls of the main galleries showcasing the evolution of Egyptian civilization from prehistoric times to the Roman era.
Guests will explore key themes such as royalty, society, and beliefs.
Moreover, they will discover the wonders of ancient Egypt: the world’s only Hanging Obelisk, the stunning Grand Hall, and the majestic Grand Staircase Gallery featuring over 60 remarkable artefacts.
They will immerse themselves in the ancient Egyptians' daily lives, rituals, cultural practices, and burial customs.
The museum will house over 100,000 artefacts. To date, approximately 50,000 artefacts have already been relocated to the new museum.
Situated just two kilometres from the Pyramids of Giza, the museum spans an impressive 500,000 square metres and houses the largest archaeological collection in the world.
Once officially inaugurated, the GEM — overlooking the iconic Giza Plateau — will become the world’s largest museum dedicated to a single civilization.
Its crown jewel will be the complete collection of Tutankhamun’s treasures, showcased together for the first time since the tomb's discovery in 1922.
Egyptian officials hope the new museum will help boost the country’s recovering tourism industry.
