Minister Kotsiras was accompanied by a high-level delegation that included the Ambassador of Greece in Cairo Nikolaos Papageorgiou, Consul General of Greece in Alexandria Ioannis Pyrgakis, and Head of the Diplomatic Office of Deputy Minister Efstratios Efthymiou.  

Heba El-Rafei, acting head of the External Relations and Media Sector at the BA, received the delegation and took them on an inspection tour to learn about the library and its various sectors.

El-Rafei also presented Kotsiras with a copy of The Photographic Memory of Alexandria book.

The delegation toured the main reading hall and the digital "World of Knowledge" exhibition, where they learned about the library's digital and technological projects.

They also visited the exhibitions and museums located within the BA, such as the "Alexandria Through the Ages" exhibition, the Manuscripts Museum, the Antiquities Museum, the Kiswa of the Holy Kaaba, the Bulaq Press, and the Sadat Museum (the late president Mohamed Anwar El-Sadat museum).

Moreover, the delegation also attended the civilizational panorama show.

At the end of the tour, the Greek deputy foreign minister and the accompanying delegation expressed their great happiness at visiting the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and their admiration of the cultural and historical treasures they witnessed.

They also praised the library's cultural and enlightening role, describing it as a vital centre that connects different cultures and enhances dialogue and understanding between peoples.
