Ghana Champions Berekum Chelsea announced Thursday that they had officially signed Ghanaian striker Saddick Adams in hopes of recovering the Premier League title they lost to Asante Kotoko last season.
"I can confirm Saddick [Adams] has signed for Berekum Chelsea," the club’s public relations manager Joe Addo was quoted as saying on Ghanasoccernet.com.
Chelsea management are currently signing new strikers to ensure that the Premier League title is returned to Berekum next season, which would also allow the side to qualify for the CAF Champions League.
"We want to ensure that our front line is formidable for the new season following the departure of Emmanuel Clottey; we believe we have achieved this by this latest signing," he added.
After failing to settle down with a single European team, the 22-year-old attacker decided to return to the Ghanaian topflight this season.
Adams is well known for his powerful strikes. He scored four goals in the 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup for the Ghana U17 team, including a goal in their 1-2 semi-final loss to Spain.
He was also part of Ghana's national under-23 football team in the 2011 CAF U-23 Championship, which was a qualifying tournament for the 2012 London Olympics.
