Securing their place in the tournament as Egyptian League champions, Ahly face a tough challenge against Ceramica Cleopatra.
Coach Marcel Koller said his team was excited to play in Abu Dhabi, highlighting the stadium's conducive environment for their tactics.
“We are happy to be here in Abu Dhabi and play the Egyptian Super Cup game in the stadium, which always helps us achieve our tactics,” Ahly coach Marcel Koller told the pre-game press conference.
“We will play a difficult game tomorrow against Ceramica Cleopatra. I don’t know if the fans will attend at the stadium’s full capacity, but I hope they will attend as they always support the players,” Koller added.
Despite a recent setback in the African Super Cup against Zamalek, Ahly, boasting 14 wins in 21 Super Cup editions, aim to bounce back and continue their dominance in the domestic competition, eyeing a fifth title streak.
Koller acknowledged challenges with international players returning from national duties but remains optimistic about their readiness.
In contrast, Ceramica Cleopatra, entering as League Cup champions, expressed enthusiasm for their second appearance in Abu Dhabi and their debut in the Super Cup.
“We are happy to be here in Abu Dhabi for the second time as we are newcomers to the tournament and we are proud to participate in it,” Ceramica Cleopatra Ayman El-Ramadi told the press conference.
The winner of the match between Ahly and Ceramica Cleopatra will face the winner of the Zamalek and Pyramids FC match in the final, scheduled for Thursday.
