Kahraba, 30, missed Ahly’s 2-1 win over Ceramica Cleopatra in the Super Cup semifinals on Sunday.

“The club’s sporting director Mohamed Ramadan decided that Kahraba will return to Cairo as he won’t continue his mission in the Super Cup with his teammates,” read a statement on the club’s official website.

The Cairo Giants have also imposed a hefty fine on the influential player.

“Kahraba was also hit a fine of EGP 1 million for his behaviour after Sunday’s game against Ceramica Cleopatra,” the Ahly statement added.

Reports in Egyptian media claimed that Kahraba’s punishment came after misconduct with Ahly’s Swiss coach Marcel Koller.

The much-anticipated final between defending Champions Ahly and arch-rivals Zamalek is scheduled for Thursday.

Kahraba has been one of Ahly's key players since joining the squad in the summer of 2022 from Turkey’s Hatayspor, scoring 46 goals in 136 appearances in all competitions.
