Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation.
The first of these grants is worth eight million euros, allocated for the EU Support for Future Generations programme.
This grant aims to enhance Egypt's national child protection systems, Rania Al-Mashat, minister of planning, economic development, and international cooperation, stated.
She added that this grant will focus on strengthening the political, legal, and institutional frameworks to combat child labour and improve children's access to comprehensive prevention and protection services.
Additionally, the grant seeks to create a supportive social environment for children, ensuring their rights in education, healthcare, nutrition, housing, and other essential services.
Meanwhile, the second grant goes to Standards for Enhancing Vaccine and Medicine Production and Implementing Health Technologies programme, valued at three million euros.
Al-Mashat stated that this grant supports the sustainable execution of national plans to boost local health products manufacturing.
It also seeks to ensure equitable access to these products throughout Africa and contribute to implementing the Global Gateway and Global Health strategies while preparing a multi-year action plan for Egypt in 2030.
She stated that these grants reflect the enduring partnership between Egypt and the EU, aimed at bolstering development initiatives in key sectors.
In March, Egypt and the EU signed a strategic partnership to strengthen bilateral relations during the visit of the president of the European Commission. This resulted in a 7.4-euro billion financing package until 2027 to support development efforts and joint investments, particularly green investments.
