The White Knights will face Ahly in the Egypt Super Cup final in Abu Dhabi on Thursday, nearly one month after their win in the CAF Super Cup over the Red Devils.

The CAF Super Cup saw a strong performance from Zamalek against an Ahly side that were far from their normal form.

“Ahly are a good team,” Jose Gomes told the pre-match news conference on Wednesday.

“They are the African and Egyptian champions. They also have around nine or ten players in different national teams. The game against them will be very tough.”

Speaking about his team’s absences, the Portuguese coach emphasized the ability of his players to fill the void left by the missing players.

Winger Mostafa Shalabi and midfielder Nabil ‘Dunga’ Emad will miss the game.

“I am fully confident in all my players. I am also sure that the substitute players will perform well.”

Gomes praised the team's determination, which was evident in their ability to come back after conceding goals.

“We managed to equalize the score and win the game on two occasions against Ahly in the CAF Super Cup and Pyramids FC in the Egyptian Super Cup.”

“The pressure will be huge on Thursday, but we are capable, as a big club, of easing this pressure,” he concluded.
