Following wins against Mauritania and securing a spot in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals earlier in October, the Pharaohs now claim the third position in Africa, trailing behind Morocco and Senegal, and the second in the Arab world.
This recent success can be attributed to their stellar performance in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
Egypt had previously broken into the global top 10 after clinching three consecutive Africa Cup of Nations titles in 2006, 2008, and 2010.
Moreover, they are set to face Mauritania in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Praia next November, followed by a match against Botswana in the AFCON qualifiers.
Tunisia drop 11 places
However, Tunisia dropped 11 places in October's rankings due to their inability to secure a victory in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers, drawing 1-1 and losing 1-0 against Comoros.
Meanwhile, Morocco moved up one spot from 14th to 13th, reinforcing its status as the top-ranked African team, and Senegal climbed one place to 21st.
At the top of the rankings, Argentina, France, and Spain maintained their positions.
Cabe Verde witnessed the most significant decline, falling seven places to 72nd.
In contrast, Botswana achieved a notable milestone by rising seven spots to reach 140th in the rankings.
