The awards, which celebrate excellence in African football, will highlight top players competing for honours, including the coveted African Men’s Player of the Year title.
While the final list of contenders is yet to be confirmed, several standout names are expected to be in the running, including Egypt's Mohamed Salah, Nigeria's Ademola Lookman, Guinea's Serhou Guirassy, and Morocco's Brahim Díaz, all of whom have impressed in their respective leagues this year.
Last year’s top honours went to Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen for the men’s award, while Asisat Oshoala, also of Nigeria, claimed the women’s award.
Morocco, a frequent host for CAF events, recently organised the 2022 Women's African Champions League, where AS FAR, the Royal Army team, emerged victorious.
The country is also preparing to host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), scheduled to take place from December 2025 to January 2026.
Additionally, Morocco is set to co-host the 2030 FIFA World Cup alongside Spain, Portugal, Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay, highlighting its growing role in global sporting events.
