This seilence and complicity "makes everyone responsible for these crimes and their repercussions," added the sttement that was signed by Basem Naim, member of the Political Bureau of Hamas Movement.

"What happened during the past few days, in particular, including the attack on medical and civil defense teams, the arrest of some and the killing of others, and the destruction of Kamal Adwan Hospital, is a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law."

"Israel would not have committed these crimes had it not been enjoying the impunity and guaranteed the protection of Western countries and even provided them with everything necessary to continue the genocide."

The World Health Organization chief warned Saturday of a disastrous situation in the north of the Gaza Strip, with "intensive military operations unfolding around and within healthcare facilities".

"The situation in northern Gaza is catastrophic," Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on X, warning that "a critical shortage of medical supplies, compounded by severely limited access, are depriving people of life-saving care."

The Israeli army has carried out an ethnic-cleansing campain in Jabalia, Beit Lahia and other towns in northern Gaza since early October.

Israeli airstrikes and bombardment killed nearly 900 Palestinians, enforced a ban on the entry of all food, water, and medicine, and destroyed hundreds of residential units to push hundreds of thousands of civilians toward the south.

On Friday, Israeli troops stormed Kamal Adwan Children's Hospital in the Jabalia camp and detained dozens of staff, patients, and displaced civilians who sought sheleter from airstrikes in the only remaning hospital in the north. At least two children died inside the intensive care unit after Israeli fire hit the generators and oxygen station in the facility on Friday.

The Palestinian health ministry said at least 22 civilians were killed in Israeli airstrikes in northern Gaza in the past 24 hours.

On Thursday, a Hamas delegation visited Cairo to discuss efforts to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza war with Egyptian officials, while Israeli officials met with US and Qatari negotiators in Doha to discuss the same matter.

"Our people demand immediate intervention to stop this aggression and implement the international will, expressed in the UN Security Council Resolution 2735, to stop the aggression, withdraw the occupation forces, lift the siege, and achieve the legitimate Palestinian rights," added the Hamas statement.

" There can be no security, stability, or prosperity in the region unless our people achieve their full rights, most notably their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital," it concluded.
