Abdelatty's remarks came during a press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiha in Cairo, where they discussed the latest developments in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
For his part, the Ukrainian FM addressed "Ukraine's Peace Formula," considering it the only way to end the crisis, noting that he extended an invitation to Egypt to participate in the under-planning second Peace Summit on Ukraine.
During the presser, both ministers also discussed regional issues including the catastrophic situation in the Middle East amid the ongoing Israeli wars.
The Egyptian FM affirmed Cairo's condemnation to all forms of escalation that could lead to a full-scale war in the Middle East.
He emphasised he need to halt Israeli aggression on Lebanon and Gaza and to ensure aid access to Gaza.
For his part, the Ukrainian FM condemned acts of violence, emphasising the importance of protecting civilians and reaching a solution based on international legitimacy and the two-state solution.
He also expressed his country's appreciation for Egypt's efforts to reach a ceasefire deal in Gaza.
During the presser, FM Abdelatty noted that Egypt is Ukraine’s top trading partner in Africa and the Middle East.
Egypt relies on importing Ukrainian wheat to meet a sizeable part of its needs of the strategic grain.
Abdelatty highlighted the importance for Cairo of strengthening scientific, cultural, and educational cooperation with Kyiv.
For his side, the Ukrainian top diplomat emphasised his country's openness to strengthening cooperation with Egypt and activating the Business Council between the two countries.
According to the Egyptian foreign ministry, both ministers also attended the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in diplomatic training and deepening mutual understanding and knowledge of diplomatic practices and policies.
