All indicators point that Israeli efforts to clear north Gaza of its entire population by way of effecting “the generals’ plan”, first announced in Israel in late 2023, are underway.
The Israeli army has carried out an ethnic-cleansing campain in Jabalia, Beit Lahia and other towns in northern Gaza since early October.
Israeli airstrikes on the towns of Jabalia, Beit Hanoun and Beit Lahia in northern Gaza have so far killed nearly 900 people - mostly women and children - during a three-week offensive.
The Israeli army has enforced a ban on the entry of all food, water, and medicine, and destroyed hundreds of residential units to push hundreds of thousands of civilians toward the south of the strip.
Earlier, the World Health Organization chief warned Saturday of a disastrous situation in the north of the Gaza Strip, with "intensive military operations unfolding around and within healthcare facilities".
"The situation in northern Gaza is catastrophic," Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on X, warning that "a critical shortage of medical supplies, compounded by severely limited access, are depriving people of life-saving care".
On Friday, Israeli troops stormed Kamal Adwan Children's Hospital in the Jabalia camp and detained dozens of staff, patients, and displaced civilians who sought sheleter from airstrikes in the only remaning hospital in the north. At least two children died inside the intensive care unit after Israeli fire hit the generators and oxygen station in the facility on Friday.
Footage circulated by the health ministry showed damage to several buildings in the hospital after the Israeli forces withdrew on Friday.
Local health authorities confirmed that the Palestinian death toll from the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza since 7 October 2023, has risen to 42,924 reported fatalities, with an additional 100,833 individuals sustaining injuries. The majority of the victims are women and children.
