Egypt's coach Bob Bradley met with Ahly's international midfielder Mohamed Abou-Treika on Thursday and he inquired about the reasons that drove the player to abandon the Egypt Super Cup.
The classy playmaker responded to the team’s hardcore fans (Ultras Ahlawy), who vowed not to let the Cairo giants feature in the annual Super Cup two weeks ago, and skipped the game.
The decision angered the club's management, who suspended the player for two months and handed him LE 500,000 fine. "I wanted to hear out the player before deciding his fate with the Pharaohs during the current period", Coach Bob Bradley told Ahram Online. "I will announce my decision regarding Abou-Treika in a press-conference next week."
According to Ahly's official web site, the American coach inquired about the player’s ability to play with his club especially after Ahly's coach Hossam El-Badry hinted that Abou-Treika could play soon, but the player confirmed that his return is entirely up to coach Hossam El-Badry.
