This came during the celebration organized by the Union of Arab Tribes and Egyptian Families to mark the 51st October Victory anniversary at the Egypt Stadium in the New Administrative Capital.
"The victory was not a simple victory. It was a victory fueled by the will of an entire nation that refused defeat and challenged itself and challenged its circumstances," said President El-Sisi.
"What you see now are the circumstances that we lived after 1967. At that time, everyone — the world, military experts, and those concerned with the challenges Egypt faced, especially on the military front — said it was impossible - the Bar Lev Line, the Suez Canal barrier and the significant upperhand of the other side. That comparison was not in our favour. Everyone said there was no chance for success.”

“But the Egyptian people rejected that, persevered, challenged themselves, and achieved victory. That’s why this victory is incredibly precious and a lot of the blood of youths and Egyptians was paid to achieve it,” added the president.
“We also paid alot for peace. The late president Anwar Sadat paid dearly for peace - in his blood and life - for an idea that was ahead of its time."
"We face challenges today, but with the same spirit, determination, hard work and perseverence, together, we will overcome all challenges and achieve all what we want," he concluded.

The event featured documentaries on Egypt’s military history since ancient Egypt, and also honoured Egyptian veterans, including Sinai anti-Israeli occupation resistance veterans.
