This came during a phone call with the Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof, where they discussed developments in the Middle East, stressing the seriousness of the recent escalation in the region.
In this regard, El-Sisi emphasized the need to intensify the efforts of the international community, particularly key European powers, to work towards halting the current escalation.
He also stressed the importance of these powers to pursue the two-state solution and the establishment of a Palestinian State following international legitimacy resolutions.
"This is to restore regional stability and achieve sustainable security for all the peoples of the region," the Egyptian presidential statement read.
During the call, both sides also addressed ways to enhance bilateral relations, particularly in the economy, in light of both countries’ commitment to supporting economic partnership and mutual investment opportunities.
On Sunday, El-Sisi unveiled an Egyptian initiative for a two-day ceasefire in Gaza, in which four Israeli captives are exchanged for several Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails.
During a press conference with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune in Cairo, El-Sisi said the initiative is a preliminary step for a lengthier ceasefire.
Egypt, along with the US and Qatar, has been mediating indirect talks between Israel and Hamas to reach a ceasefire deal during the more-than-one-year Israeli war on Gaza.
